I ask that all of you obey the rules. If you don't this is the way things will be dealt with.

I do not like when people break rules, thus I will be watching. I find rule breaking disrespectful, and if you really think about, the rules I am about to list are not that hard to follow.
1. Please keep cursing to a minimum out of character. Swearing is disrespectful and can really hurt someone. You may however cuss when in character, I ask that you do not however abuse this power.
2. No one line posts! I ask when people are posting for one paragraph (7-8 sentences). However this is not set in stone you may post more if you wish.
3. Post always in the third person! It is a major pet peeve of mine if people do not post in the third person.
First Person (Wrong Way)- I walked up to the table dragging my feet behind myself. I dreaded what was probably in store for me
Third Person (Correct Way)- Emma slowly made her way to the far table. She dragged her feet behind her, dreading what might be in store for her once she got there.
4. If you want to put an OOC sentence on your post, use something like these - (()) //\\ :: :: - That way it is separated from the rest of your post. However, I do ask that you keep most OOC post to the broads that have been made for that.
5. Godmoding or Power playing is NOT allowed! This is when you say what happened to the other character you are posting with.
Godmoding (Don't do!): "Flipendo," Emma said pointing her wand at Eric. She watched in fascination as Eric fell backward. She laughed uncontrollably.
Proper way: "Flipendo," Emma said pointing her wand at Eric. She watched for his reaction hoping her spell would hit him.... (Wait for response)
6. I know that sometimes it is hard to stay absolutely true to the Harry Potter books. All I ask is that you keep in mind some of the basic facts. Don't go changing facts about cannon characters, and such stuff like that.
7. No Mary Sue characters!! Everyone has a weakness, no one is perfect.
8. When posting I ask you run your post through a spell check. A couple of spelling mistakes are ok, but I don't want every other word spelled wrong.
9. Post in proper English. I don't want to see any of this: "Hey u! Wuts new? OMG I forgot to tell u something..." etc. If I see any of this, you will probably not be able to post in any RP's and will be asked to go to Practice Role Playing board.
10. Your user name must be your character name (Fist and Last Name)
11. If you apply for an original character, make them original! I don't what to see any Elizabeth Malfoy's or Henry Potter's.
12. No original characters that are related to cannon characters. Unless the people who are playing the canon characters are ok with it.
13. It will take either two moderators to approve your profile or, just the head admin. [/ Application question: What is your favorite place in the world? /]
16. Respect everyone on the site. Treat people how you want to be treated. Do I have to say anymore?
17. No double posting! There is a modify button one the post you want to edit. There is no need for double posting!
18. Listen to the moderators of the board. They know what they are talking about, and only want to help.
19. All characters should have at least a banner or avatar if not both. I ask that you keep all banners no bigger than 200x500 and avatars no bigger than 100x100. This is so no one has to scroll past large banners. If you can't make banners or avatars on your own, there is a spot in the General Discussions bored where you can request one.
20. Have Fun!
