Salem is best known for the horrendous tragedies surrounding the infamous Witch Hunt of 1692. However it's also home to a prestigious American Magic School, the Salem Witches' Institute. Established in 1690, it's the country's oldest wizarding educational facility and held in high esteem by all witches and wizards. Through the hysteria that followed in 1692, the small wizarding community was held at bay by the vicious tongue of a vengeful young witch. Magical families lived in fear while dozens of Muggles died as a result, and in the grief that soon followed, the witches and wizards of Salem vowed never to let such a tragedy occur again. Now, the year is 1992. Three-hundred years have not altered the severity with which elders and teachers preach the idea of protecting Muggles to young people and students. Though there are no longer any Pureblood families in the country, there are plenty of disdainful ones that could care less for their magic-less neighbors. Students at SWI are exposed to a city rich in diverse magic and full of touristy Muggles who don’t even notice. SWI is a brand new RPG, with spaces for everyone. Since it is also in a new spectrum of the Harry Potter universe, there’s almost no limit to the creativity that can be used for plots, people, and places. There are also opportunities for administrative and teaching positions. The doors to this Salem school have opened, just be sure to avoid the noose.
