Much is going on in the wizarding world in the year 2005, some of which effects are so wide spread that even the muggles are beginning to notice with mild suspicion. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Magic alike drawing their forces together to keep the Muggles non-accustiorial that another world exists right under their noses.
The famed trio - Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermionie Granger- had somehow managed to defeat the threat of You-Know-Who. But, the job had not been completed, so it would seem. The Ministry not having enough aurors to catch them all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named supporters were still at large. Chaos raged harshly on the wizarding world for another year, but by then most of the Death Eaters and supporters had been held in custody, charged, and either convicted or found innocent.
But not all were caught.
A number of Death Eaters managed to evade capture, and despite the fact that You-Know-Who had been fully and surely defeated this time around, they continued to try and find a means to resurrect him. When all attempts failed and they had to come to grips with the fact that their master would not rise for a third time, they honored his memory with starting another group, a group to continue his ingenious plans. They began targeting the youth, melding them into these idealism's and turning them to their cause. For many, persuasion was not needed, the idea enticing all its own. Crimes began to be committed widespread throughout the world of magic, focusing on England and extending outward like a vast epidemic. Muggles became targets of horrible crimes, muggle-borns fairing no better. The Ministry tried to stomp out the problem, but it spread too quickly, grew too complex for even them to penetrate its roots.
But of course, there are two sides to any war, especially one of this magnitude.
The Order of the Phoenix died out after the fall of Voldermort, most of them wanting to retire into a quieter life. And with the big bad guy out of the way, what else would their services need to be rendered for? However, some stayed to fight this new threat as well. Where the Deva drew supporters from all age groups, they did the same, drawing allies to their cause as well, eventually evolving into the Phoenix Regiment.
The Ministry, stuck between two secret organizations is beside them, and most wizarding folk have taken one of three sides in this rising problem; the ministry, the Deva, or the Regiment. But not all. There are still neutrals out there trying to live their lives free of this chaos, but eventually, all will be swept away with the current.
But, while all of this was going on, another event was taking place.
After Dumbledore's death, the school was shut down despite all of Professor McGonagall's attempts for it to remain open. The Ministry took advantage of the situation, accusing that "If Hogwarts Potions Professor murdered Dumbledore, than who's to say the rest of the place is not full of Who-Know-Who supporters?" The entire staff was fired and the students displaced.
With all of the riots growing increasingly over the years, the current Headmistress managed to convince the Ministry that perhaps the reason for all of these criminal youth acts is the fact that Hogwarts is closed. Seeing as the rate of crime in adolescents had increased at that approximate time frame, the Ministry was forced to eventually agree, and Hogwarts was reopened.
For better or for worse.
Reopened in 2000, the school is now once more bustling with excitement and activity, with new staff and students. But secretly, Deva and Phoenix Regiment members hide among them. No one can truly tell where anyone's loyalties lie, staff and students alike. But nonetheless, it functions as it always had, for after all, Hogwarts is immortal. It's foundation always remains, and thus magical education always possible.
Created in November of 2005, Hogwarts Revolutions, based on J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter Series is a forum based writing role play community fairly new and with many important and fun positions and possibilities open for current and new members.
