Sorry if this is for members only... I didn't see a notice about that in the forum, so I figured this was ok. We have an advertising board on our site as well, so you can feel free to put an ad there.

"Hogwarts school flourished during the Middle Ages, much as magic did. International relations were improved, and the newly founded Wizard’s Council of England spread it’s tendrils across the world. Most notably, friendly competition was founded between wizarding schools in other countries, France and Romania. Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons held their first Triwizard Tournament in 1294 at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This was a grand tournament, open to students of all ages...”
-Excerpt from Chapter 13 of Hogwarts, a History.
Chapter 13 is a Harry Potter RPG set in the Middle Ages, almost 200 years (give or take a few years) after the school's initial founding. The school is still small, mostly due to the difficulties of travelling during these dark times.
For, make no mistake, these times are dark. There are no dark witches or wizards terrorizing the school (though there are a fair few terrorizing the general populace) - but rather, this is the era known as the Dark Ages. Technological advances are few and far between in the muggle world, and religious fervor spreads and grows stronger each day. For witches and wizards, this means trouble - a good flame freezing charm doesn't always work in time to save a life. The Crusades are also raging at this point in history, though the magical world doesn't concern itself with things so mundane as religion.
The wizarding world doesn't concern itself with many muggle things, in reality, and as a result magic has developed and grown in great strides. Floo Powder is a recent invention, and each day brooms are being invented for the sport of Quidditch - it is growing in popularity, even if the Golden Snidget is becoming extinct. Students at Hogwarts are being educated by some of the greatest witches and wizards of the age in order to go out into both the wizarding and magical worlds as prepared as they can possibly be in this strange era.
Most exciting of all, however, is the Triwizard Tournament. 1294 is the first time this has ever been attempted, and many people are doubtful as to how successful it will be. The Wizards Council, the Ministry of Magic of the day, has worked hard to create ties with foreign wizards and this tournament is the result! How will the Hogwarts students react to those from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang? Only time will tell.
