Laying in the sand

[Rebecca West]

Becca smiled, she had the same questions and thoughts running through her mind. "Well i never thought it was a date, i thought it was just two friends spending time together." she started, "But ya we could go on a date some time if you'd like, i think it would be fun." she told him with a smile.

Becca herself didn't even know if she was ready for a relationship, she liked Wyatt alot, but she needed to think things through and tak lwith Emmy. Like Wyatt she had just been in a relationship that she thought would never end, but to her surprise it had. She was ready to move on, and she wanted to move on, but she didn't know what Wyatt was thinking, or even if he felt the same way. Rebecca figured that they were best to for now spend time together, get to know each other a bit more, go on dates, then maybe there would be more, but right now she was unsure.

"Great," Wyatt said smiling, "Any idea what you wanna do or where you'd wanna go?" he asked wondering if she had any suggestions for their first, date if she didn't he would think of something, but he just wanted to see what Rebecca's idea was first. On the outside Wyatt was smiling and happy, why shouldn't he be? he just got himself a date with a beautiful girl.

But on the inside Wyatt was riddled with questions and doubts, painful memories and misplaced hope. He was't sure he was ready to move on, he knew he should and he wanted to, but part of him wasn't ready to give up his ex, even though she had clearly been fine moving on. He would have to remain strong atleast on the outside, he didn't want Rebecca to know his doubts and forsake this relationship before it even happened.

She smiled as he said great, "No sorry i have no ideas, but you can surprise me." she smiled again, "I like surprises." she stated. She could tell that Wyatt was full of questions, much like herself, and she could also tell that there was something else on him mind to, but she didn't want him to know that so she remained quiet. She was happy with everything, but if Wyatt didn't want to she was happy with that too. She wasn't about to make anyone do anythign they didn't want to or weren't ready for.

"Alright, I'll try and make it a good one," Wyatt smiled. 'surprise me' thats what his ex had always said whenever he asked her opinion. His mind swirled this date, might even surprise him. He'd have to think of any idea later his mind was far to flooded with questions.

After his break up he promised himself to never get that close anyone again, that way if things ended badly it would hurt as badly...he didn't want to get hurt again, but more than that he didn't want to hurt Rebecca...that was what he most feared about this relationship.

"Sounds good to me, " she said with a smile. Rebecca then turned her gaze back up at the stars for a moment. So many things were running through her mind now. But she didn't have any answers to them. She liked Wyatt, but she was afraid to get hurt again, just like the last time. And she didn't want to hurt him either.

Rebecca turned her eyes back on Wyatt, and continued to smile, lying there not saying a word as she couldn't think of anything to say.

Wyatt continued to look up at the sky when he felt Rebecca's gaze on him. He shifted to look at her and loooked her in the eyes, she had beautiful eyes. he almost made the mistake of saying 'I love you' but was able to catch his tounge before the words came out. Wyatt didn't know what love was anymore so to tell someone he loved her especially if he didn't mean it would just make things...awkward. "did I ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes?" Wyatt asked unable to remember if he had already said this or not. Atleast this was true her eyes were beautiful.

Becca smiled as Wyatt turned his gaze to her. "I'm not sure, but thanx." she stated unsure if he had told her that before or not, eithway it still made her smile. becca felt a bit akward at the moment she didn't know what to say back to Wyatt, or whether she should say anything at all. After a few moments she turned her gaze back to the sky and left it there. She still had a million questions running though her mind, and was finding it hard to anwser them.

"Sorry," Wyatt said apologetically. Though he wasn't sure what he was sorry for, creating an awkward moment I guess. Another one would probably follow shortly. Wyatt always seemed to end up with alot of awkward silences in his conversations. And he usually created them by saying something like what he just had.

Becca smiled, "No, don't be sorry, it really isn't your fault there was a slilence that time, i just didn't feel like saying anything at the moment." she told him, which was mostly true, the other part was she couldn't think of anything to say, but he didn't need to know that.

"So what other things might we have in common?" she asked, hoping it would create a conversation to break the silences. Becca turned her gaze back to Wyatt for a minute. And waited for his response.

"Hmm, good question," Wyatt said thinking it over. "Whats your favorite class?" he asked this being the first think he could think of. He hadn't already asked that had he? If he had he didn't remember so hopefully she wouldn't either.

At his questions, Becca had to think for a minute about what her favorite class was. "Well i dont have one favorite, " she stated, "But my favorite are Defence against dark arts, and charms." she told him. "And everyone thinks that i should be good at Potions and Herbology just because that's what my parents teach, but really i'm not that good." she added. It was true, Becca wasn't really good in either, but she wasn't the worst. "And you? What's your favorites?" she asked in return.

"Charms and Care of Magical Creatures," Wyatt said after a quick thought. "I'm really good at both of them too. POTIONS ON THE OTHER HAND i'M GOOD AT AS LONG AS i TRY," (Sorry caps lock) he added smiling. Potions was the one class he actually had to work for his grade.

Becca smiled, "Well there's another thing we have in common, we both like Charms, and we both have to try in Potions..." he said trying not to laugh, though she found it rather amusing how she sucked at potions conceidering her dad tought it. "But i never really liked Care of Magical Creatures, thats probably because when i was younger i was scared of lots of different creatures, but now i don't mind some." she told him in all honesty.

Trying to think of another question that she could ask this time. It took her a few minutes be she found one. "What's your favorite creature? and What's your favorite animal?" she asked, unsure of they had already talked about this or not. To her creatures and animals were two different things. So she was curious to know if Wyatt thought the same way.

"They're kinda the same I mean, Magical creatures are just special animals," Wyatt said explaining his view. Well I guess they couldn't agree on everything. "But my Favorite creatures are Dragons, always have been...even before I knew they really existed."

Since he was muggle born Wyatt was taught that magic didn't exist(though he refused to believe it), so of course when he found out that a creature he had for so long wished to exist actually existed how could it not be his favorite? "And as for my favorite animal that's a little tougher, but I'd have to say...hawks are my favorite."

Wyatt had a couple animals he really loved, but decided to go with hawks because he envied there natural ability to fly. They were also beautiful birds as well as fierce predators. "How bout you?" he asked turning the question back on Rebecca expecting totally different answers than the ones he had given.

Rebecca couldn't believe that he said dragons. She to loved dragons, and always had since she was little. "My favorite creature would have to be a dragon too." she told, and she wasn't just saying that so it would be the same. "But my favorite animal would have to be a tiger." she told him. In Becca's room back home, it was full of her favorite things. She kind of thought as her room as a museum about herself, you could walk in without knowing anything about her, and walk out knowing just about everything.

"But i also love spiders, " she added as an after thought, "and i hate snakes, always have ever since i was little." she told him truthfully.
