Laying in the sand

[Wyatt O'Riley]

"I like snakes...I like any reptile really. I mean I understand why some people don't like them, I'm just not one of them," Wyatt explained. He thought reptiles were just about the coolest group of animals.

"So what's your favorite type of Dragon?" He asked curoiusly. As he waited for her response he tyhought about what his favorite was. Wyatt was also kinda surprised she hated snakes, but loved Dragons. After all Dragons were pretty much just huge flying, fire breathing snakes with legs.

As Wyatt told her he liked snakes, a cold shiver ran up and down her back. Becca couldn't stand them, she couldn't even be in the same roon even if they were in a cage. "I don't know why i hate them, i just always have." she said, though it was true.

At his next question she had to think. She couldn't really pick just one type of dragon she loved them all. "I don't really have a favorite." she told him. "I love them all, i think they'll all cool. And they're all different, and fasinating in their own way." she told him. "You?" she asked curious to know what he thought.

"well I like all of them, but I would have to say Norweigan Ridgebacks are my favorites, mostly because there so rare," Wyatt explained. He didn't neccesarily like ridgebacks more, he was just more interested in them because of their rarity.

Becca smiled, "ya they are pretty cool, " she stated then looked back up at the stars and she tried to figured out what to ask next. Lokking back at Wyatt she smiled once again. "What kind of music do you like?" she was curious to know, because of of her favorite things was music.

"well I'll listen to just about anything, but recently I've been getting into Indie rock," Wyatt said smiling. It was his goal to find the next big thing before it became the next big thing. He had found afew good bands so far but nothing great. "how bout you?" he asked curiously.

"Sounds cool, i've never heard it before, and i've never even heard of it before." she smiled honestly. "Me i'll listen to just about everything, but it would also have to depend on the singer or the the group." she told him. "Like i like Country, but not all country. And i like rock, but not all rock." she added hoping that it would make things about clearer.

"Yea I know what you mean. I'm kind of the same way. Like you like certain artists, just not neccessarily that whole genre," Wyatt said understanding exactly what she was talking about. "And Indie rock is just like new bands who aren't signed to like a big label there more like independant," he added as a bit of an explaination...he actually wasn't really sure what the qualification for an Indie band were.

Becca smiled as he said he was the same way. "Exactly, i like sertain artists, but not nessasairaly the whole genre." she repeated. As Wyatt explained to her what Indie rock was, it made more sense to her. "Ok that makes sense, but i still have never heard of that before now." she smiled. She was having a great time with Wyatt and didn't want the night to ever end, but knew it had to eventually. Becca stared into his eyes as she tried to think of another question.

"Ok what's your favorite movie?" she asked curious to know if they liked the same kind of movies or not.

"My favorite movie...That's a tough one," Wyatt said smiling. "I'm gonna have to say...Good Will Hunting," he said finally. It was a reasonably well known movie, and it was really good. It was the movie that really introduced the world to Matt Damon. It was such a cool story.

"So, what about you? What your favorite?" Wyatt asked. He was interested to know what Rebecca's favorite was because he doubted it would be the same as his.

Becca listened to Wyatt as he talked. In a way she was a bit relieved that their favorite movie wasn't the same. Becca smiled, she had heard of that movie before and she's seen it, but not for a while. "Ya it is a tough one" she state, "i don't really have a favorite more like a few favorites." she said then lied flat on her back, rather then sitting up.

"My favorite movie.....well, my favorite one growing up was Peter Pan, and i still do love it, always will." she told him honestly. "And i love Pirates of the Caribbean one and two." she added. "Oh, and also i love Longest Yard, and I'd probably have to say all four of the American Pie movies."she smiled as she finished talking, she knew that was a lot, but they were all her favorites, she couldn't just single out just one. "Oh and i love scary movies." she added as an after thought.

"Well I have to say I'm in agreement with you on all of those...except the scary movies...I've never really liked scary movies. I watched one on TV when I was like 5, and I haven't been able to watch one since," Wyatt said smiling. It was kind of stupid, but it was what had happened.

Becca didn't want to laugh at what he said about scary movies because she thought that would have just been mean, But not all people liked scary movies and he was just one of them, and she was fine with that. "Awww, that's cute...in a way...." she stated then smiled, "do you remember which one it was?" she asked, wondering if she'd seen it before.

As she waited for his answer, Becca didn't really reliese that she was movine slighty closer to him again. She was trying to think of another question she could ask, but at the moment didn't have any in mind. She wondered if Wyatt had any in mind that he wanted to ask.

"If I tell you you'll laugh at me, because it is a terribly made horror movie, actually I guess it was good at the time since it's pretty old, but by todays standards it's awful, so I'd rather not say," Wyatt explained. He figured she want to know anyway most people did, but this is one thing he never wanted to reveal. He actually wasn't even sure if he knew what it was called anymore.

Becca smiled, "Ok you don't have to, that's fine, and i won't laugh even if you do tell me." she stated thruthfully, she wasn't about to make him do anything he didn't want to. Once again Becca moved slightly closer to Wyatt. She wasn't going to do anything, and she didn't even realiese that she was moving slightly closer. Becca wanted to keep talking but she didn't know about what. Something came to mind, but she wasn't sure if she'd already asked that or not. "When's your birthday?" she asked, not really caring if she had before or not.

"September 3rd," Wyatt said smilng. It seemed like a question they had already asked, but he wasn't about say anything. Especially since if they had said it before Wyatt had already forgotten Becca's response. "When's yours ?" he asked.
